About the Medical Group Management Association
Colorado MGMA is proud to be affiliate with Medical Group Management Association, based right in our home state of Colorado!
Although our chapters are affiliated, membership in National MGMA is separate and provides different member benefits than Colorado MGMA. For information on National MGMA please visit their website at www.mgma.com.
MGMA is the premier membership association for professional administrators and leaders of medical group practices. Since 1926, MGMA has delivered networking, professional education and resources and political advocacy for medical practice management. The Association started as a small network of clinic managers, called the National Association of Clinic Managers, which met for the first time in Madison, Wis., in 1926. The name was changed to the Medical Group Management Association in 1963 to reflect the diverse management roles found in group practice.
The mission of MGMA is to continually improve the performance of medical group practice professionals and the organizations they represent.
MGMA serves 21,500 members who lead 13,700 organizations nationwide in which some 275,000 physicians provide more than 40 percent of the healthcare services delivered in the United States.
Its diverse membership comprises administrators, CEOs, physicians in management, board members, office manager and many other management professionals. They work in medical practices and ambulatory care organizations of all sizes and types, including integrated systems and hospital- and medical school-affiliated practices.
