Reed joined CoBiz in January 2010 as a benefit consultant and is now Practice Leader for benefit consulting. Reed serves his customers as the lead benefit advisor for CoBiz Insurance. His role includes making recommendations to shape strategy and direction for employee benefit programs. He adds value to his client relationships through analytics, underwriting, negotiations, budget stewardship, benchmarking, compliance, employee engagement, consumerism driven plan designs and health improvement strategies.
Since joining CoBiz, Reed was named 2013 "Top 25 Most Powerful Salespeople" by ColoradoBIZMagazine and 2014 "Top 40 under 40" by the Denver Business Journal.In 2016, Reed was named "Employee Benefits Broker of the Year" by BenefitsProand
"Top 25 Most Influential Young Professionals" by ColoradoBIZMagazine. Reed is an accomplished public speaker and publisher of various articles and blog posts regarding thought leadership in the employee benefits industry.
Prior to joining CoBiz, Reed was a Sales Executive with Great-West/Cigna Healthcare for nine years, where he focused on large, self-insured employers. Reed was recognized as the national sales leader for Great-West/Cigna in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
He holds a BS degree in Business Management from the University of Colorado, where he graduated with distinction and as a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honors fraternity.
Reed volunteers his time by serving on the Metro Denver Board for the American Cancer Society and is a community outreach board member with Metro Community Provider Network (MCPN).
Reed is married to his wife of eleven years, Nicole. Together they raise their two boys, Elijah (9) and Samuel (8). In his spare time, Reed enjoys spending time on the golf course and focusing on his personal health.
